Give your cabinet doors a classic raised-panel finish

Bring depth and detail to wood panels with the PROMASTERTOOL™ Cove Raised Panel Router Bit with Backcutter. The main cutter shapes a sweeping cove around the front edge, while the smaller backcutter relieves the reverse side to form the panel tongue.

Use it for the panels in kitchen cabinets, vanity doors, wardrobes and furniture. The cove creates a defined transition from the flat center to the thinner edge that fits into the door frame.

Front profile and back relief in one cutter assembly

• Cove profile: a curved reveal adds depth to the panel face.
• Integrated backcutter: shapes the reverse edge as part of the same setup.
• Carbide cutting edges: mounted on the yellow-coated cutter body for woodworking.
• 1/2" shank: for a compatible router with a matching 1/2" collet.

Plan the panel and frame together

The illustrated profile has a nominal 1/4" panel tongue. Check the fit against your actual frame groove using test cuts in matching stock. The door frame requires separate rail-and-stile tooling; this bit shapes the panel itself.

Set up for a controlled cut

Use a suitable variable-speed router mounted in a router table, with a fence and proper workpiece support. Take several shallow passes, adjusting the fence to increase the cutting depth. Follow the bit and router operating limits, then dry-fit the finished panel before assembly.
